Hard Hat Tour of USA Children's and Women's Hospital Construction Site - Opening Soon

Mary got to take the Hard Hat tour of the new tower at USA Children's & Women's Hosiptal. So exciting to see what's in store for the kids, their families, and those who take care of them!

  •
Took the Hard Hat tour, with Scott Crenshaw ...who has become known as Tour Guide Barbie!
  •
    Glass elevators!!
  •
    A teen lounge!
  •
This is one of the pediatric rooms. Note to parents: the couch (and chair) in the rooms pull out to beds
  •
Nurses' Station... don't you love the floors?!
  •
    New Class Act room
  •
Lots of windows, lots of sunlight
  •
Next phase includes a courtyard out front, and connects the two lobbies of the hospital
  •
Ok. This is cool. The floor tiles in the center of the elevators have a gel that you can make shapes with , using your feet. Looks like somebody knows a lot about kids....
  •
The new Tree House!! This is the needle-free zone...no docs allowed....just kids having fun and taking a break!
  •
Seriously. His hard hat says Tour Guide Barbie
  •
Look at how the mural becomes 3-dimensional, using the ceiling!
  •
The artist who created the Tree House, Lynette Meyers
  •
How many hard hats can you fit into an elevator? 15....
  •
The new pharmacy...and this is only half of it
  •
The Progressive Unit of NICU...they call it the Fat Farm, because premature babies go there when they're almost big enough to go home
  •
    Neo-Natal room
  •
    Nurses' Station
  •
This machine lets doctors/nurses move a bed away from the wall and still connect to everything. It gives them access to the patient from all angles.
  •
Notice the dots on the floors. Different colors tell you when you're leaving one section and entering another
  •
    Recovery Room, post-surgery
  •
One of 8 new Operating Rooms
  •
    Gotta love the lobby!
  •
New Cafeteria!! (Families and employees rejoice!)
  •
    Cafeteria seating area....lots of room
  •
Ok...we were hungry. There are lots of cafeteria pics.
  •
New kitchen for the hospital and cafeteria. And this is only half of it
  •
Thanks for the tour!!! Can't wait for the public tours, coming soon.... Cassandra Odom, Mary Booth, Travis Grantham, Vickie Akers, Scott "Tour Guide Barbie" Crenshaw
